Go Kapolei – Howdy, Tex!(aco)
As the sun sets on Chevron’s century in Hawaiʻi, a new day dawns with Island Energy Services taking over the Campbell Industrial refinery.
Jon Mauer, former plant manager for Chevron Hawaiʻi, recently found himself at one of life’s crossroads.
He had spent nearly three decades working for the energy giant and was slated to transfer elsewhere within its ranks when the company ended its more than a century run in the isles at the end of 2016.
Mauer chose the road less traveled and has stayed on to explore new opportunities as CEO of Island Energy Services (IES), which is slated by year’s end to acquire Chevron’s Hawaiʻi assets, including the Kapolei refinery, 58 service stations and four distribution terminals on Oʻahu, Maui, Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island.
